Thought of another pro/con set of living in a hotly contested swing state:
Con - ENDLESS campaign ads.
Pro - Both parties have made/will make several campaign stops in Ohio...including Sarah Palin coming to West Chester (about 45 minutes away) this Friday for a "Road to Victory" rally. I've been wanting to go to one because all the footage I've seen makes them seem like giant pep rallys for America...and as a former cheerleader, I can't resist a good pep rally! I picked up a ticket today, so Friday morning Sarah Beth and I are going to bundle up and huddle with the masses for hours waiting for some music and a 20 minute speech--and I can't wait!! I'm just trying to figure out what to write on my sign... :)

good luck-- last election, both times i went to rallys (one for cheney and one for bush) they wouldn't let us take our own signs. we either had to have the pre-made ones that they handed us at the door, or, if we were *really* lucky and got to sit behind whoever was speaking, they handed us pre-made signs that looked like someone had colored them in marker. kind of amusing, but we didn't get to make them ourselves. it was a letdown... but very fun, nonetheless. i still have the videos on Kirby.
That's so cool! I'm jealous!
tonight i received my 3rd call from barack obama's campaign. i finally asked the dude on the phone how they got my name & cell phone #. he claimed i was registered democrat - that's news to me. apparently obama's campaign bought a bunch of phone numbers, mine being one of them, and now want to nag me to death for my vote. don't i feel special!
